5 tips that make your meat much less missing

Saving animals and not sacrificing taste and nutritional value, who would not want that? Is your image of a meal without meat still dry chickpeas or tofu that tastes like rubber? We would like to adjust that! Eating less meat does not have to be boring or less tasty at all. There are many possibilities nowadays to replace your meat in a healthy and delicious way. In this article you will find 5 simple kitchen tips that make it easier to eat less meat.

Tip 1: Marinate the tofu or tempeh

Soy products such as tofu and tempeh marinate make it so much better. This makes tofu anything but tasteless and the tempeh sucks the ingredients so that you stay away from eating. In order to ensure that the marinade retracts properly, it is important to cut the tofu or tempeh into small pieces.
An example marinade (for 2 people):
3 tablespoons of soy sauce 
1 tablespoon of chilli sauce 
1 tablespoon of olive oil 
1 garlic clove, 
1 teaspoon ginger powder and / or 1 teaspoon of onion powder 
small lemon juice
Allow the marinade to stand in for 3 hours before baking the tofu or tempeh. Remove the blocks from the pan when they are golden brown.

Tip 2: Make a delicious vega curry

There are also plenty of delicious and nutritious vegetarian curries without thinking of meat or fish. Think of this delicious  curry with sweet potato or this curry with chickpeas, beans and cherry tomatoes .

Tip 3: Pasta with vega minced meat instead of animal minced meat

A pasta is also delicious with vegetarian minced meat instead of minced meat from a pig or beef. What’s more, you will not be short of proteins with vegetarian minced meat. With the  following recipe  you will create a simple but tasty pasta on the table with vega minced meat.

Tip 4: Take a delicious cheese, bean or vegetable burger

Last summer we have replaced our traditional barbecue with a vegan barbecue with the FIT.nl team. The bean burgers, veggie schnitzels and vegetable burgers were delicious and did not differ in terms of taste for a meat burger. And everyone was more than satisfied with his proteins that evening 😉 Cheese burgers are also favorite in the office. Because vegaburgers are becoming increasingly popular, you will find these in most supermarkets on the shelves. Try out several to discover your favorite – a better excuse to eat more burgers is not there!

Tip 5: Choose vegetarian meat substitutes more often

Finally, there are also all kinds of vegetarian meat substitutes on the market that taste good with your familiar Dutch pot and all kinds of world dishes. Think of vegetarian shawarma, chicken nuggets, falafel or beef strips. Delicious on your sandwich or pizza, with your potatoes, curry, salad … The possibilities are just as endless as with meat.
